Choosing a Paint Color is Easy..

Updated: Feb 9

I’ll just go with white walls, that’s an easy choice.

walks into paint store and see 50 different shades of “white”

Not so easy now is it!? Haha

Choosing a paint color can be a lot harder than you think. There are so many options in the market that calling an interior designer doesn't sound like a bad idea.

While we are not interior designers, we still have some questions for you to ask yourselves before making the decision.

How do you want the tone to be?

Are you trying to just get an update on your current color or are you looking for a fresh new look?

Take a look around your room and think, is it too dark in here? Is it too bright in here?

Paint can do wonders when it comes to the lighting in a room. Trust me, we have seen rooms go from looking like dungeons to looking like a sunroom.

So say you want to go with a lighter color, will your furniture and decor match?

I personally like full makeovers so choosing a color first before your decor is the best way to go. That way you can have the perfect funchaway you were looking for. However, that scenario is more for moving into a new home.

There are a lot of questions to ask prior to making the big decision.

Now to the major question, how is the lighting in your room?!

Lighting, LED vs Fluorescent can make a color look completely different. We always suggest grabbing samples from the store to test the color out in the room you are looking to paint.

We love using Sherwin Williams paint. They have made it so easy for our clients to choose a color with their easy to use website.

We also suggest checking out their blog which gives a beautiful layout of color theory.

Using these tools will help make this daunting task become a breeze.
